Smoke Alarm Action Day
FRNSW is running a campaign starting on 1 June 2026 to encourage everyone to test, install and maintain working smoke alarms before winter.
Firefighters can help with their free Safety Visits. Firies can come to your home and check that you have working smoke alarms, they’re in good condition and are installed in suitable areas.
If you don’t have one, firefighters will install a long-life battery-powered smoke alarm, as well as, replace existing smoke alarm batteries all at no cost. They can also provide personalised fire safety advice.

This service is not available to landlords in untenanted premises.
