Exceptional HSC Results for Stella Maris College

The Class of 2023 has produced Stella Maris College’s best-ever HSC results, achieving a state ranking of 61.

This result continues an overall upward trend in academic success for the Manly girls’ school. Stella was the 8th ranked Catholic school in New South Wales and the third ranked non-selective school on the Northern Beaches.

College Dux for 2023 was Ruby Ballesty who achieved an ATAR of 98.80 and was awarded First in the State in Mathematics Standard 2. She was included on the HSC All Rounder List having achieved a Band 6 in 10 units. Amelia Wall and 2023 College Captain, Pippa Ravenscroft also appeared on the All Rounder List.

Almost one third of students (31%) received an ATAR of 90 or above.

In the 2023 Showcase, an exhibition of exemplary individual or group performance or projects from the HSC, Stella students earned 21 nominations with one selection in Dance.

College Principal, Elizabeth Carnegie said that the cohort had demonstrated achievements across multiple fields.

“Success comes in many forms and I applaud the students who have completed Duke of Edinburgh, committed to community service and contributed to the College through their involvement in debating, social justice, performing arts and sport.”

“Stella Maris College firmly believes in the correlation between student wellbeing and academic success. It is particularly affirming that, together with the dedication of teachers through high quality lessons, in-house professional learning, hours of student feedback, and continual mentoring, our continued focus on pastoral care has been reflected in our 2023 HSC achievements.”
