The ‘new’ St Paul’s at Manly ready to go Co-Ed

St Paul’s Catholic College, Manly is opening a new chapter in its rich history spanning almost 100 years of education on the Northern Beaches with commencement of co-education.

Established in 1929 as Christian Brothers Manly and originally located in Raglan Street, the College relocated in 1965 to the grounds of St Patrick’s Estate on Eastern Hill.

St Paul’s is part of the Catholic Schools of Broken Bay Diocese (CSBB) – a network of 45 Catholic schools covering the regions of Central Coast, North Shore and Northern Beaches

The move to co-ed at St Paul’s begins this year with Years 7, 10 and 11, transitioning to fully co-ed in 2026.

The move to co-ed comes as no surprise to the many parents and teachers at St Paul’s. The transition was planned as part of the College’s ‘Towards 2025 Strategy’ committed to “adapting to the evolving needs of families in the area.”

To reflect the ‘new’ St Paul’s, branding has been refreshed including a new uniforms,  signage on campus, a new website – and even a dedicated St Paul’s coach to transport students to and from school.

All aboard boys and girls – we’re off to St Paul’s!

Of course, there will be new staff as well – including its first female Principal.

Bishop Anthony Randazzo along with Danny Casey, Director of Catholic Schools Broken Bay (CSBB) were delighted to recently announce the appointment of new Principal Ms. Gabie Stojanovski, who brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience from her role as Assistant Principal at Mater Maria Catholic College, Warriewood.

“I am delighted to be appointed as College Principal at St Paul’s Manly and lead the transition to co-education,” says Ms Stojanovski.

“I am incredibly excited about meeting all of our new students and embarking on this journey together. The focus for 2025 will be creating a vibrant community and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.”

Ms Stojanovski will also oversee planning for the College’s centenary celebrations in 2029 and looks forward to the first co-educational graduating class.

Mr John Hunt, who has been part of the St Paul’s team since 2023, has been named Assistant Principal, and says: “We are extremely excited for our College in 2025 and beyond!

“The opportunity as staff to lead St Paul’s to a new era of co-education is such a privilege, which we are prepared for. Our teaching, learning and wellbeing programs have been enhanced to incorporate latest educational research to lead and support our students.”

In preparation for the transition, CSBB has invested significantly in the College, upgrading the facilities, including the introduction of a Senior Learning Hub designed to support contemporary learning practices

To ensure a seamless and high-quality transition, St Paul’s has recruited additional experienced staff to enhance administration and teaching teams.

Collaborative planning within the College and throughout the CSBB networks will continue to play a vital role in the successful transition.

College staff have participated in Expert Teacher Groups across Catholic Schools Broken Bay where they all share expertise and collaborate to develop teaching programs and resources for the benefit of all.

Individual learning needs are well supported not just by each teacher but also by the College’s Diverse Learning Team – each student has a clear plan for progression appropriate to their age and stage of learning.

St Paul’s also engages in a variety of enrichment programs in science, technology and commerce, that are supported by universities and business, and has a strong reputation for success in the creative arts, boasting a number of finalists in the prestigious Northern Beaches Art Prize and the Bishop’s Prize for Creative and Performing Arts.

St Paul’s has an elective sports program which promotes healthy living, respect for others and collaboration. Representative sports teams provide opportunities for students to further develop self-discipline, ambition and humility in both victory and defeat.

The College is affiliated with Catholic Schools NSW Sport, providing a pathway to state and national representation.

For the incoming 2026 Year 7 cohort, St Paul’s will be offering a number of highly sought-after fee-paying scholarships. There will be a number and type of scholarships awarded and are dependent upon the quality of applicants and the places available.
