Santas Downunder brings Christmas campaigns to Northern Beaches businesses

Santa spends a lot of time posing for family Christmas photos on the Northern Beaches. Last year, Budgy Smuggler joined him for a few portraits.

Santas Downunder teamed up with the local swimwear brand for a tongue-in-cheek Christmas reel. The resulting video drew hundreds of thousands of views.

The Santas Downunder and Budgy Smuggler collaboration leaned into both brands’ sense of humour.

Now the team behind the Beaches’ familiar Santa photo sessions is inviting other local businesses to get in on the act, offering paid collaborations that turn a brand’s products, services or personality into custom Christmas video reels.

Alongside Santa, the team brings a cast of characters, props and plenty of production experience so your business can take part in one of the Beaches’ coolest Christmas traditions around. And the best part? You don’t have to organise the whole thing yourself. Santas Downunder’s workshop takes care of the concept, script, shoot and edit. Just rock up, get involved, and let Santa handle the rest.

“Brands in 2026 should not take themselves too seriously,” said Santas Downunder founder Sonja Tye.

For Sonja, the aim is to make something people can enjoy even if they’ve never heard of the business before. The Budgy Smuggler campaign gave the team a chance to lean into the brand’s own sense of humour, rather than simply putting Santa in front of a product.

The collaborations sit alongside Santas Downunder’s regular Christmas photo sessions at Manly, Collaroy, The Spit, Dee Why and North Harbour Reserve.

Sonja said the team is choosing its collaborations carefully and checking them twice to make sure each campaign has its own place in the Christmas calendar.

Enquiries are open until the first week of November. Northern Beaches businesses interested in a paid Christmas collaboration can contact the team at hello@santasdownunder.com.au to discuss a potential campaign and whether their brand is a good fit.
