Police are investigating the discovery of possible human remains which washed up on Palm Beach on the weekend.
On Sunday, 15 March 2026, a woman found a large bone on the Palm Beach shore and handed it to Surf Life Saving NSW Palm Beach.
The bone is similar to a tibia leg bone; a shinbone.
NSW Police collected the bone and delivered it to the Forensic Medicine and Coroner’s Court Complex at Lidcombe, where it will undergo forensic testing.
A forensic pathologist and an anthropologist will confirm whether the bone is in fact a human bone, however no timeline for this report has been detailed as yet.

French national charged over Mona Vale jewellery theft
On Wednesday, 18 March 2026, around 2:15pm, a man reportedly entered a jewellery store at Bungan Street, Mona Vale and tried on a valuable gold necklace. He then ran out, still wearing the gold necklace, into a nearby car and sped off.
The car was identified and soon after tracked to a location in Chatswood. North Shore Detectives located the car, and the alleged jewellery thief was arrested at a Chatswood retail store.
Police will allege the 20-year-old French national had the stolen gold necklace in his pocket. Police took him to Chatswood Police Station where police charged him with one count of ‘Larceny’ and granted him conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on 9 April 2026. The bail conditions include surrendering his French passport, and the gold necklace was returned to the Mona Vale store.
The alleged offender was also issued with a future court attendance notice for ‘Driving while never licensed’.
True Blue site warning
Police have issued a scam warning.
On Tuesday, 21 October 2025, an Avalon woman responded to an online financial advice site called True Blue. She was contacted by a person purporting to be a representative who gave her instructions to deposit $5,000 into an investment account.
The woman can no longer reach the representative, and preliminary inquiries show her money was transferred to an overseas account.
Police say it is unclear whether True Blue is a site used by scammers or if scammers hijacked it.
Moneysmart.gov.au and ScamWatch are sites recommended by police to check company credentials for those considering investing.
