The appetite for an affordable gym in Manly must be pretty strong for Plus Fitness to be opening a second store.
With several gyms and specialised fitness studios already in the area, you might think there isn’t much room left.
That hasn’t stopped Plus Fitness from opening its second location just 350 metres from its existing site on Pittwater Road. Close enough that you could walk between the two in a few minutes.
On paper, it sounds a bit ridiculous.
But in Manly, it actually makes sense.
People train at all times of the day. Early mornings, after work, weekends. There’s a steady stream of locals looking for a gym they can rely on without overcomplicating things.
That’s how the original Plus Fitness built its following. Simple, consistent and relatively affordable. But there’s only so much room inside one gym.
So instead of squeezing more people into the same footprint, they’ve opened another one just down the road.
For members, that means access to not one but two gyms in Manly, plus the wider Plus Fitness network of more than 200 locations across Australia.
That kind of setup gives locals more flexibility. If one space is busy, there’s another close by. It makes it easier to fit training into the day.
Inside, the new Pittwater Road gym sticks to what Plus Fitness already does well.
A clean, open space with a full mix of strength and cardio equipment, including free weights, cardio machines and functional training areas that leave enough room to actually move.
Like the original site, it’s built around a straightforward, local feel that regulars already know.
While it’s not a 24/7 gym, the space offers extended opening hours covering early mornings and evening sessions.
“Manly is a community that truly values health and lifestyle, and the response we’ve seen here has been incredible,” says Plus Fitness Senior General Manager, Matt Muller.
“Opening a second location allows us to meet that demand and give more locals access to a flexible, high-quality and affordable place to train.”
