Police are investigating a break-in and theft from a Curl Curl home that took place on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

James Meehan Reserve assault update
The 47-year-old man assaulted at James Mehan Reserve on 29 May 2026 remains in the Intensive Care Unit but is now in a stable condition and no longer intubated.
Police confirmed that they are continuing to investigate the incident.

Narraweena youth arrested for assaulting a man on St David Ave, Dee Why
Police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old man from Narraweena for assaulting a 57-year-old man at Dee Why.
Police allege that at about 4:40pm on Wednesday 26 May 2026, the offender, who was 17 years old at the time, punched a 57-year-old man who was walking along St David Ave, Dee Why. The offender punched the victim to the head and knocked him to the ground. The offender confronted the victim at a nearby supermarket a short time before the assault.
On 1 June 2026, the now 18-year-old was arrested at his home and taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with ‘Assault occasioning actual bodily harm – s59 Crimes Act NSW’, ‘Fail to comply with digital evidence access order s76AO(1)(a) Law Enforcement (Powers and Responsibilities) Act’, and ‘Intimidation s13(1) Crimes (Domestic and Personal Violence) Act 2007’.
He was refused police bail and appeared at the Surry Hills Children’s Court the following day, where he was refused bail for two weeks.
He will remain in custody and appear at Surry Hills Children’s Court on 14 July 2026.
Four arrested after officer injured during alleged pursuit
A man and three teenagers have been arrested after an officer was injured during an alleged pursuit on Saturday, 6 June 2026.
At about 4:30am, officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command sighted a vehicle travelling on Military Road, Mosman.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle; however, when it allegedly failed to do so, a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued towards Miller Street, North Sydney, before travelling along Blue Street, where the vehicle is alleged to have briefly stopped.
Police will allege that, as officers approached the stationary vehicle, the driver accelerated, striking an officer before colliding with an unmarked police vehicle and driving away.
The 21-year-old constable sustained head and leg injuries and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
With assistance from Highway Patrol and the Dog Squad, the vehicle was later located abandoned on Blues Point Road, North Sydney.
A short time later, police arrested a 22-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy, and two 17-year-old girls at Blues Point Road, North Sydney who are assisting with inquiries.
Brookvale man charged with assaulting Coles retail worker
Police charged a 56-year-old man from Brookvale with assaulting a 23-year-old female customer service employee at Coles supermarket on The Corso in Manly.
Police will allege that at about 8:30pm, on Friday, 29 May 2026, the man was in the store when he threw coffee cups and pastry at the woman who attempted to serve him. The man did not buy anything and police will allege he helped himself to a coffee from the store without paying. The pastry struck the woman on the hand, and the man left the store.
Police were contacted and located the man near Manly Town Hall. He admitted assaulting the Coles employee, and he was arrested and taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with one count of ‘Assault retail worker s60G NSW Crimes Act’, and one count of ‘Larceny’. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on 10 June 2026.
The man was also issued with a banning notice, banning him from entering the Coles store for 12 months.
Business email scam leads to over $16,000 loss
On 26 May 2026, a man from Fairlight reported that his emails were intercepted by scammers who rewrote service provider invoices and substituted the legitimate bank details with the scammer’s details. The victim paid over $16,000 during a three-month period. He later contacted the legitimate service provider and realised he had been scammed. The money was transferred to an account in the USA, and the police said it would be difficult to recover the funds.
Police said this type of fraud is on the rise and reminded the community to take extra care when transferring money. They recommend contacting a recipient to confirm fund transfer details prior to any exchange of money.
Tracker tracks stolen e-bike
An ebike was stolen from a secured basement bike cage at a Manly Vale apartment block between 9pm on Tuesday 2 June and 11:30am the following morning.
Thieves cut through a chain and padlock to take the $10,000 bike. Upon discovering the theft, the owner activated an Airtag attached to the eBike that pinpointed a nearby Manly Vale address.
The owner went to the location and recovered the bike in a stairwell.
The incident was reported to Manly Police Station.
No arrests were made. Police initiated forensic testing of the crime scene.
