On Sunday, 5 October 2025, around 11am, an 18-year-old woman entered a house on Lower Beach Road, Balgowlah… through a doggy door.
When the residents returned home, the woman was still inside, and they noticed someone had disturbed the house and piled their property together for theft.
They challenged the woman, took photos of her and called the police.
When the police arrived, the woman ran off.
Police arrested her and took her to Manly Police Station, where they charged her with ‘Break and enter dwelling house with intent to steal’.
The police refused her bail, and the Court remanded her in custody to appear at Manly Local Court on 22 October 2025.
Have an e-bike? Attach a tracker
Police are recommending e-bike owners attach trackers to their e-bikes after at least five were reported stolen in the last week.
According to reports, it appears locking e-bikes is not a deterrent, and with two e-bikes successfully retrieved after the use of trackers, police are recommending fitting e-bikes with the devices and noting the e-bike’s serial number (to be used in the report to police should the e-bike get stolen).
On Friday, 3 October 2025, an owner reported their e-bike stolen from Cromer Park. The owner had fitted the $2,800 e-bike with a tracker and used it to monitor the e-bike’s location over the following few days. On Monday, 6 October 2025, the owner, using the tracker, located the e-bike in bushland at Pittwater Rd, Dee Why.
On Thursday, 2 October 2025, a man parked his e-bike at the Warriewood B-line carpark to go to work. When he returned at the end of the day, he found it was stolen. He had attached an AirTag to the $3,500 e-bike and found it moving through Dee Why. He successfully retrieved it himself.
