A very good purpose for a trip to the salon this fortnight

Salon Purpose, a multi-award-winning, high-end hair salon in the heart of Manly, is celebrating its business birthday by giving back to the community through its annual ‘With Love’ campaign starting Monday.

From 29 April to 12 May 2024, the salon aims to raise $12,000 for four life-changing causes, with each $25 donation represented by a bow of impact.

The salon, founded by local Nicki Ranatawake, moved from Allambie into Manly’s Rialto Lane two years ago, and with the move into a bigger premises, significantly expanded its tradition of sponsoring a child in need for every chair in the salon.

“From the very beginning, we set out to create a salon that not only delivers high-end hair services but also makes a positive impact in the lives of others,” Nicki said.

“From the very beginning, we set out to create a salon that not only delivers high-end hair services but also makes a positive impact in the lives of others,” Nicki said.

“Our annual ‘With Love’ campaign is a perfect example of our commitment to this belief, it’s an opportunity to support causes that are close to our hearts. Purpose is not just a part of who we are; it’s at the very core of everything we do and every decision we make. It’s what sets us apart: high-end hair with heart.”

This year’s ‘With Love’ chosen causes include:

  • Safe Housing for Australian families experiencing homelessness
  • Domestic Violence Healing Workshops for First Nations Women
  • Education for children in Uganda
  • Water Well Repairs for remote communities in Uganda
With Love – Shopfront Display in Rialto Lane, Manly.

Last year Salon Purpose raised an impressive $10,650 during the ‘With Love’ campaign, providing 109 nights of safe housing for Australian families experiencing homelessness, 53 safe birthing kits for mothers and newborns in Uganda, 49 days of domestic violence healing workshops for First Nations Women, and 14 start-up loans for women in Asia to open their own businesses. The salon aims to surpass last year’s success with a goal of $12,000, representing 480 bows of life-changing impact.

To get involved and contribute to the ‘With Love’ campaign, clients can visit Salon Purpose from 29 April 29th to 12 May and choose which cause they would like the salon to donate $25 towards on their behalf. Those unable to visit the salon during the campaign can still make a difference by donating $25 to the cause of their choice via Salon Purpose’s custom-built giving portal.
