Motorists praised in Freshie fire

Firefighters from Manly and Narrabeen reported a busy heatwave-weekend, kicking off with a property rescue over in Freshwater on November 28. The Manly fire unit says residents were quick to report an apartment on fire and self-evacuated in good time.

No one was home so the firefighters said they had to break the unit door, managing to stop the fire and saving a lot of personal belongings.

The local fires commended how swiftly local motorists cleared a path (moving left or out of the way) allowing them to arrive in time to “save someone’s world!”.
