Police say a gas explosion at a Seaforth home this afternoon is now being investigated by SafeWork NSW.Two men, understood to be in their twenties and suffering serious burns to their face and across their bodies, are at Royal North Shore Hospital.

Paramedics say they responded to reports of a gas explosion at 1:45pm today, December 2, at a home on Battle Boulevard in Seaforth.Six crews and two specialist medical teams were dispatched to the scene – including one specialist via helicopter. Northern Beaches Police escorted the two men to Emergency.

Inspector Dave Morris, Duty Operations Manager for NSW Ambulance said scenes involving significant burns such as these are “very intense.”

“When emergency services respond we want to minimise risk to our patients and also to ourselves. It was a fantastic effort from all emergency services to safely secure the scene so we could start treating our patients in a safe environment.”

SafeWork NSW has confirmed the two men were injured while installing waterproofing at the property.
