A 40-year-old man has been refused bail at Manly Local Court after being charged with more than 30 domestic violence-related offences involving two women.
Northern Beaches Police Area Command began investigating last month after a 20-year-old woman reported a serious assault at Cromer. The investigation has since widened to include allegations from both a 20-year-old and a 27-year-old woman, with some of the claims dating back several years.
Police allege the offences include assault, stalking or intimidation, intentionally choking, and property damage. The man has also been charged with escaping lawful custody in July. (His capture and arrest opposite Manly Court pictured main).
He was refused bail and will next appear in court next month.

Mona Vale jewellery thief extradited from Queensland
A French national has been extradited from Queensland to face court over an alleged jewellery store theft at Mona Vale earlier this year (see our earlier report here).
Police allege that on 18 March, a then 20-year-old man stole a gold necklace from a Mona Vale jewellery store, having aroused the suspicion of the owner with his questions about the chain. The owner’s suspicions were confirmed when the man allegedly put the chain on and ran from the store following a brief struggle, fleeing in a getaway car.
Police tracked the car to Chatswood that same afternoon, where local officers arrested the man and recovered the chain from his pocket. He was charged with larceny and granted conditional bail, but failed to appear at Manly Local Court on 9 April, prompting a warrant for his arrest.
The man remained outstanding until 4 August, when Queensland Police contacted Northern Beaches Detectives to advise he was in their custody and due for release following unrelated property charges. Northern Beaches Detectives travelled to Southport the following day, where a Queensland court authorised his extradition. He was flown to Sydney and taken to Mascot Police Station, where he was initially refused bail.
The now 21-year-old appeared at Bail Court and was granted conditional bail, ahead of an appearance at Manly Local Court on 20 August.
Forestville man arrested over alleged bail breach, drugs and weapon
A 32-year-old man has been arrested in Forestville after allegedly breaching bail conditions imposed just a day earlier.
Northern Beaches General Duties Police located and arrested the man about 12:30am on Tuesday, 4 August, after he was found to be in breach of conditions set by Manly Local Court the previous day.
A subsequent search allegedly turned up a knife with a 5cm blade, about 19 grams of cocaine, drug scales, multiple mobile phones and other drug-related paraphernalia.
Northern Beaches teenager targeted in sexual extortion scam
Police are again warning families after a 16-year-old boy from Ingleside was targeted in a sexual extortion scam this month.
On 1 August, the teenager received a TikTok message from someone he believed was a woman. The conversation moved to Signal, where the pair exchanged intimate photos. Once the offender had the images, they demanded $300 in online gift cards and threatened to circulate the photos to the teenager’s Instagram contacts.
The victim paid via an online gift card site before telling his parents, who reported the matter to police. He lost more than $800 in total. Preliminary inquiries suggest the offender was contacting him from a number in Nigeria.
The teenager has since blocked the offender and reported the account to Instagram.
