Man dies at Dee Why beach

A rock fisherman has died after he was pulled from the water on the Northern Beaches this afternoon.

About 2.50pm (Sunday 28 November 2021), emergency services were called to Dee Why Beach, Dee Why, following reports a man was in trouble in the water.

The 59-year-old man was assisted by surfers and was pulled from the water by Surf Lifesaving NSW at the southern end of the beach.

NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR on the unresponsive man, however, he died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended and will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner.
