A man was subjected to a citizen’s arrest at 7th Day Brewery in Brookvale last night after allegedly entering the outdoor area of the venue with a knife, stabbing a beer keg and telling other patrons he was armed.
Police confirmed they were called to Wattle Road, Brookvale about 10.50pm Friday 17 July following reports of a man with a knife.

Officers were told the 20 year old had struck a beer keg with a knife multiple times inside the brewery before patrons and staff stepped in and detained him until police arrived.

No injuries were reported. Police did not clarify whether mental health was a factor.
The man was taken to Manly Police Station and charged with custody of a knife in a public place, and two counts of contravene prohibition/restriction in AVO (domestic).

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Local Court 7 today (Saturday 18 July).
