Sauna, ice bath and steam recovery sessions are set to arrive on Manly’s Corso next month, with Sydney wellness brand XtraClubs opening a new contrast therapy club aimed at making hot-and-cold recovery more accessible.
Long used by professional athletes, the method is now increasingly adopted by the broader wellness community, including swimmers, runners and gym-goers looking to support recovery outside traditional training environments.
Located at 32 The Corso, a short walk from both Manly Wharf and Manly Beach, the venue sits on the suburb’s main pedestrian strip, a natural meeting point for commuters, beachgoers and weekend visitors.
The club says the goal is to make sauna and cold-plunge sessions something locals can incorporate into their regular routines, rather than an occasional spa-style luxury experience.

Sauna, Ice and Steam on The Corso
Visitors will have access to a large traditional Finnish sauna (around 90°C), four infrared saunas (around 70°C), six ice baths and a dedicated steam room (45°C), allowing them to cycle between heat, cold immersion and steam as part of a contrast therapy session.
Inside, the space features natural light, travertine stone flooring and warm finishes designed to create a calm environment for alternating between sauna heat, cold immersion and steam.
According to XtraClubs founder Anthony Simonetta, Manly had long been on the company’s radar as a natural fit for the concept.
Manly became very close to our hearts after we ran ice bath events by the beach back in 2023
“Manly became very close to our hearts after we ran ice bath events by the beach back in 2023,” he said.
“We met so many people who were very engaged in their wellness, so we knew we had to find a location that would make sauna, ice bath and steam room facilities accessible to everyone.”
The Manly site follows the success of the brand’s Marrickville location, which opened in December last year.

A Community-First Approach
Sessions will be booked through the XtraClubs mobile app, which also acts as a digital key allowing members to enter the club.
The sauna and recovery areas are mixed gender, with private change rooms and showers.
Community sessions will run throughout the week, reflecting the increasingly social nature of sauna and cold-plunge communities. These include Social Sessions on Saturday evenings from 7pm to 10pm, as well as guided contrast therapy sessions on Friday mornings at 9:15am, 9:45am, 10:15am and 10:45am.

Memberships Available, Walk-Ins Welcome
Founding memberships start at $19.95 per week, positioning the club as an accessible alternative to more expensive spa-style recovery experiences.
The Manly opening will mark XtraClubs’ fourth Sydney location, following venues in Bondi Junction, Green Square and Marrickville.
Once open, the club will operate daily from 6am to 11pm.
With its location on The Corso and just a short walk from the beach, the venue will sit naturally within Manly’s active outdoor culture, where ocean swimming, surfing and fitness are already part of daily life for many locals.
