Tree Canopy Plan on display

Northern Beaches Council has developed the draft Tree Canopy Plan (draft plan) to guide future policy, planning and improvements in the management of our tree canopy over the next 4 years.

This draft plan is informed by the 2019 LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) survey. The survey results identify urban heat island effects, and areas where we are most vulnerable. The draft plan also responds to community feedback from previous consultation.

We need your help to protect and manage our tree canopy. Learn how the tree canopy plan impacts you and tell us what you think. You’ll find the details to have your say further down the page.

Submissions close Sunday 9 July.

Manly Observer is an experiment in providing non-sensationalist hyperlocal news on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. We cover the big news across the LGA, but with a hyper focus on the Manly electorate encompassing Balgowlah, Seaforth, Freshwater, Brookvale and Curl Curl up to Dee Why. It is run by those living in the community for the benefit of an informed community. We care about an informed and connected community. That’s it. Simple.
