Tip fire ignites at Ingleside

UPDATE: 6 October 2026

A fire at Kimbriki Tip in Ingleside has been extinguished following a four hour fight from the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) on vast waste piles.

A triple 0 emergency call was received last night before 20 firefighters from NSW RFS arrived on scene just after 9.30pm. The fire was confirmed to be approximately 100 by 20 metres going up a general waste aisle.

It was reported five fire trucks and heavy plant equipment were used during the operation; the latter included excavators to open up the site so crews could access and extinguish the fire with water from hose lines.

Fire crews wrapped up around 1.15am and handed operations over to Northern Beaches Council and Kimbriki staff to watch for reignition fire. No injuries were reported nor a clear cause for of what ignited the fire. NSW RFS media indicated to Manly Observer the fire could’ve been caused by a myriad of factors due to the location of the general waste’s environment.
