A man and three women have been charged after an alleged theft at Warringah Mall last night.
About 7.15pm on Wednesday (6 March 2024), police were called to the mall on Condamine Street, Brookvale, following reports of a break and enter.
Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command spoke to the security staff.
Police were told that number of people arrived at the car park area in a white hatchback before they allegedly forced entry into a storage room.
Police said the storage room was empty and there were no items stolen at the time of incident.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 31-year-old woman and a 41-year-old woman within the car park area of the shopping mall, before they arrested a 21-year-old man nearby on Old Pittwater Road, Brookvale.
Police also located the white hatch back in the parking area and attempted to stop the vehicle however, it failed to stop as directed.
A short time later, the vehicle was stopped by officers patrolling surrounding area on Condamine Street, Brookvale, before they arrested a 38-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman.
All five people were taken to Manly Police Station for further inquiries.
Three of them – two women aged 31 and 41 and a 21-year-old man – were charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company intend steal less than or equal to $60,000.
The 31-year-old woman and the 21-year-old man were refused bail by police to appear at Manly Local Court today (Thursday 7 March 2024). Both were refused bail by the court to appear on Wednesday (13 March 2024).
The 41-year-old woman was refused bail by police to appear at Manly Local Court on (Thursday 7 March 2024). She was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday (13 March 2024).
The 38-year-old woman was charged with breach of bail. She is due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday (14 March 2024).
The 27-year-old woman was released with no charge.
