A 14-year-old boy is in custody at Manly Police Station this afternoon after it is alleged he drove towards a police officer in Brookvale in a stolen vehicle.

When officers approached the vehicle on foot, the driver is alleged to have driven towards a constable, who took “evasive action to avoid being struck”.

Police patrolling the area located the Toyota and a pursuit was initiated before being terminated a short time later due to safety concerns.

Following inquiries, and with assistance from PolAir, the Toyota was located in the carpark of a business in Cross Street, Brookvale, about 11.30am, police report.
