The primary works involve building a Rescue Patrol and Nippers Training Room, which will include a single-storey addition to the existing club building over an existing terrace fronting Carrington Parade. The Rescue Patrol and Nippers Training Room will enhance patrol readiness and provide a modern, dedicated space for education, simulation training, and first aid instruction—benefiting both volunteer lifesavers and the broader community through outreach programs and beach safety courses. This addition will provide essential new training facilities that are currently lacking at the surf club.

In addition, the DA includes the construction of a Performance Strength and Wellbeing Room, which will include enclosing existing stair access to enable the expansion of the current gym area. The Performance Strength and Wellbeing Room will provide members and competitor athletes with access to strength, conditioning, and recovery equipment designed to improve fitness, reduce injury, and enhance overall wellbeing.

A State Significant Development Application for senior housing and a residential care facility has been approved. The multi-stage development will include 350 independent living units across six multi-storey buildings at 1 and 3 Skyline Place, Frenchs Forest. This approval is for the first stage which include works at 3 Skyline Place and will include site preparation; construction of buildings A (eight storeys), B (eight storeys) and C (part six and part 14 storeys); 200 independent living units; a residential care facility in buildings B and C; open space; ground level employment generating floor space in buildings A and B; landscaping; and, car parking. Construction is forecast to begin in 2028.

The plans are an extension of ‘Jardin’ at 5 (to be completed in 2026) and 7 (completed in 2023) Skyline Place, which incorporates four buildings of residential apartments for over 55s with a vision for a ‘health-focused urban renewal of the locality with high quality, sustainable and supportive housing and facilities for seniors’.
