A Porsche SUV was stolen from Curl Curl this morning, leading to the arrest of six females and one male who allegedly crashed the vehicle on the Spit Hill at Mosman.
Scores of Northern Beaches Police Area Command cars surrounded the high-performance vehicle after it lost control on the s-bends heading city-bound towards Mosman.
Police were called to a home on Lalchere St in Curl Curl shortly before 4.40am following reports a Porsche SUV had been stolen.
Shortly after, police spotted the vehicle driving around Balgowlah. The vehicle failed to stop for police and a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued for 10 minutes through Balgowlah Heights and Seaforth, before coming to an end when the car crashed on Spit Road.
Six girls and a boy, whose ages aren’t known but are understoodd to be minors, have been arrested and taken to Manly and Chatswood police stations.
“I just happened to be awake and could hear the car screaming up Spit Hill,” she said, “the next thing I heard were sirens and when I looked out the window there were police everywhere.”
An eyewitness, who supplied these images said she heard the car “whizzing” around the s-bends before impact and feared the worst.
