Police are asking the public to help identify an unknown male in a road rage altercation which took place on Thursday, 9 April 2026 at the intersection of Kentwell Road and Pittwater Road in North Manly.
At around 6:50am, a 17-year-old driver from Cremorne was attacked when he stopped at the intersection.
The alleged offender shouted and stopped behind the victim, got out of his car, and punched the teen through the open driver’s window. The offender then drove off in a silver Subaru Liberty, heading north on Balgowlah Road.
Police described the attack as violent and unprovoked, and traumatic for the teen victim.
The offender has been described as male, in his mid-thirties, with a bald head.
Police are seeking information about the incident including any dashcam footage of the attack. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers or Dee Why Police Station.
Another two teenagers arrested for car stolen from Allambie Heights
On 9 March 2026, a car was stolen from a house in Allambie Heights. Last week, police reported the arrest of a Northern Beaches 14-year-old teen in relation to the theft (you can read the details here).
This week, on 7 April 2026, Northern Beaches Detectives arrested and charged a 16-year-old boy from Cromer for his alleged involvement. Police allege the teenager was part of a group that stole the Nissan X-Trail from the driveway at around 1:30am, engaged police in a pursuit at about 9:15pm that same night and then later abandoned the car on Pertaka Pl in Narraweena. Police also allege that credit cards inside the stolen car were used fraudulently by the group.
Inquiries led police to the identity of the 16-year-old, who was charged with one count of ‘Be carried in Conveyance taken without consent of owner’ and one count of ‘Goods in Personal Custody suspected of being stolen’. He was refused bail by police and then granted conditional bail to appear at Surry Hills Children’s Court on 20 May 2026.
Detectives also charged an 18-year-old man from Dee Why on 2 April 2026 in relation to the same crime. He was charged with one count of ‘Be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner’, three counts of ‘Dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception’, and one count of ‘Goods in custody suspected being stolen or otherwise unlawfully obtained’. He was refused bail by police and then granted conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on 15 April 2026.
Killara man arrested over counterfeit currency
On 9 April 2026, Northern Beaches police arrested a 44-year-old man from Killara for using counterfeit currency to purchase power tools and a TV.
Police allege that on 22 January 2026 he used counterfeit $100 notes to buy power tools from a Narrabeen hardware store and a big-screen TV from a Balgowlah supermarket.
Police were on patrol in Forestville when they saw and identified the wanted man. He was arrested and taken to Manly Police Station and charged with two counts of ‘Uttering counterfeit currency’ and one count of ‘Possess prohibited drug’. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on 6 May 2026. Police expect to make further arrests.
