Northern Beaches Council is upgrading the lighting around the outdoor pools at Manly Andrew Boy Charlton Pool by replacing all existing light poles with two new poles. Council says the upgrade will improve light distribution and enhance visibility for swimmers and lifeguards, helping ensure everyone’s safety. All globes will be replaced with energy-efficient LED lights.
Pool closures
To complete these works, the outdoor pools and surrounding area will be closed for three weeks from Monday 21 July to Wednesday 13 August, weather permitting.
Closed: Mon 21 Jul – Sun 10 Aug
Restricted opening times and lane availability: Mon 11 Aug – Wed 13 Aug
Restricted access
No entry via the back gate during the works. If you hold an accessible pass, please use the ramp on Balgowlah Road, located to the left of the driveway.
Accessible parking
Accessible parking is available in the car park and on Kenneth Road.
