A woman was arrested in Newport yesterday after crashing her car while allegedly almost five times the legal alcohol limit.
Just before 4pm yesterday, Wednesday 2 September, police were called to Foamcrest Avenue in Newport following reports of a crash.
On scene, police located a vehicle had crashed through a barrier and onto a bin.
The driver, a 48-year-old woman, was assisted from the vehicle before being assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries.
She was subjected to roadside testing which allegedly returned a positive result.
The woman (not pictured) was arrested and taken to Mona Vale Police Station, where she underwent secondary testing which allegedly returned a reading of 0.237.
Her licence was suspended and she was issued a Court Attendance Notice for the offence of drive with high range PCA.
She is due to appear before Manly Local Court on Wednesday 16 September 2026.
