After a tumultuous 24 hours since candidate registrations closed, and without any Liberals present in the room, at 2pm today, the ballot was held in Warriewood.
Northern Beaches Liberal candidates in all five wards failed to have their registrations submitted by Liberal Party headquarters due to “resourcing issues”. (You can read more about it here.)

Manly Observer spoke to a few candidates about what effect of having no Liberal candidates on the ballot would have in the Local Government Elections to be held on September 14.
“Many of the Liberal candidates have worked so hard, but it is what it is,” said Candy Bingham, candidate for Good for Manly in the Manly ward.
“The results of the next council election will be very interesting – we may have a lot more Independents, and maybe for the first time a Labor candidate.”
Kristyn Glanville, Greens candidate for Curl Curl ward, said that, despite political disagreements, at the end of the day she worked collegially with David Walton, former Liberal candidate for Curl Curl ward.
“There were a lot of issues we had in common for the community, like upgrading Freshwater, and big picture stuff like good governance on council, managing the budget and improving compliance. So, it’s a shame that a part of the community who would’ve voted for David, can’t,” she said.
“I think there definitely needs to be a review of Liberal Party procedures and policies,” added Vincent De Luca, Independent candidate (Community Before Developers) for Narrabeen ward.
“I hope the Liberal Party will be reimbursing those candidates who have already committed expenditure.”
Brandt Clifford, Labor candidate for Manly ward, says this could potentially swing Liberal voters to Labor.
“Our process was always to swing some punters, and this could be an opportunity,” he said.
“Our agenda is good, and it’s only really the Labor Party that can work with the Minns government on issues like planning, housing, etc that we’re trying to bring forward to the Northern Beaches council.”
The election will be held on 14 September.
