Man missing from Brookvale located safe but very far from home

Missing man Garry Morrow has been found.

Remarkably, his daughter in law says he has been picked up by police in Petersham.

Garry has been missing since lunchtime yesterday in Brookvale. The 70 year old lives with dementia and spent 30 hours away from home with various sightings across the Beaches.

His daughter in law had this message for the community: “The only ending we wanted, Garry has been located in Petersham by the police and is being assessed but seems to be well. We cannot thank the Beaches and extended community enough, everyone including the Police, SES and volunteers have been beyond amazing!”

Previously:Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the Northern Beaches.

Garry Morrow, aged 70, was last seen on Alfred Road, Brookvale, about 1.30pm today (Saturday 10 August 2024).

When he could not be located, officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold serious concerns for his welfare as he lives with dementia.

Garry is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 165cm tall with stocky build and grey hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue, grey and white striped jumper, blue jeans, and black slip-on Nikes shoes; he may also be wearing a blue puffer jacket.

Manly Observer readers saw him in Freshwater and Queenscliff in the mid afternoon.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts is urged to call police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
