Man faces court over Collaroy child approach

A man accused of approaching a 12-year-old at Collaroy and subsequently assaulting the child’s older relative faced Manly Court this week.

Kitchie Knoss, 44, who also goes under the name Kitione Nasalo, is listed at an address in Minto but appears via his social media to frequent the area via the Manly Ferry. He appeared before the Manly Court via video link from prison yesterday 22 October, where he has been held since his arrest over the alleged incident on 10 October.

Police will allege the man approached and grabbed the arm of a 12 year old boy at Collaroy before the boy’s older relative intervened. It is then alleged Knoss assaulted the older man.

In relation to the child, Knoss has been charged with stalk or intimidate to cause fear of physical or mental harm, and common assault.

In relation to the older man, Knoss has been charged with Assault occasioning actual bodily harm as well as common assault and affray.

The matter has been referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions to consider for district court. Knoss did not apply for bail and will reappear for plea or mention on 5 November 2025.
