A woman pulled lifeless from the water near rocks at Dee Why Beach this morning has been revived and transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in a critical condition, paramedics confirm.
A crew from Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club pulled her out from the water near the rock shelf and were witnessed providing CPR for a solid 25 minutes.

The woman was spotted at 8:50am and had been retrieved and taken to the sand for CPR by 8:51am.
Witness accounts describe fast, efficient and skilled action from the life saving crew. This included regular Manly Observer contributor and wildlife photographer Tim Marshall.
“ I was out with my camera, as l often am in the morning, and was photographing a pelican which happened to fly directly over the SLSC guys in the boat,” he said. “I then started photographing the guys in the boat, purely because there was bugger all else interesting to photograph, when I noticed they spotted something in the water and made a beeline to it.
“The person was barely breaking the surface and surrounded by foam, chop and glare, so incredibly hard to see; there was zero chance of seeing them from the shore – I couldn’t even see anything in the water and I had a powerful zoom lens trained on them.
“I then watched them pull a person, who had been face down, onto the boat and zip almost 600m back to the beach by the surf club all within 90 secs (I have timestamps in the image metadata on my camera). Incredible stuff and I’m amazed to hear they also then went on to revive the person after working on them on the sand for a long time.
“Kudos to the Dee Why surf lifesaving crew for their lightning actions.”
Northern Beaches Hospital confirmed at 1pm this afternoon the woman was still in a critical condition and her identity was still unknown.
