Introducing Manly’s inaugural Corgi Easter Parade !

Over 40 Corgis, some dressed in their finest Easter attire, took to Manly on Sunday as part of the inaugural Corgi Easter Parade.

“Earlier this year, our Corgi community discussed walking our Corgis together around the beaches between our quarterly Corgfests,” Lauren Hall, the lead organiser and mum to Collaroy-based Corgi, Stuart, told Manly Observer.

“Us Corgi owners usually get stopped in public because the breed seems to be a bit of a unicorn in the dog world.”

Lauren Hall, the lead organiser, with her family.

In 2022, Lauren and her partner adopted Stuart, who has steadily gained an Instagram following and is well known in the Collaroy community.

“Last year, during my maternity leave, I wanted a project, and as I saw more Corgis in the area, I decided to form a group, and I got an overwhelming response from Corgi owners,” Lauren said.

“Our first meeting was at Bayview, and so far we’ve had five Corgfests.”

Northern Beaches Corgis took to Manly Corso for their first Easter Parade.

While they usually hang out at Bayview Dog Park, the group, Northern Beaches Corgis, decided to hold their first Easter parade at Manly.

“We saw various Corgi parades on social media and wanted to facilitate something similar,” Lauren explained.

Meeting at St Matthews Manly, the group walked down the Corso and along the beachfront before turning around at North Steyne and making their way back.

“Corgis are a beautiful dog breed,” Lauren added.

“They’re very loyal, great family dogs, and have heaps of personality.

“We hope our little Corgi parade will bring lots of joy to the community.”

The group has had five Corgfests so far, but the Easter Parade was the first time they’ve paraded their Corgis in Manly.
