Staff at Malouf’s pharmacy on the Corso got a surprise visitor today when Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin walked in during a visit to Manly.
Employees Scarlett, Marvin, Cameron, Alan, Joanne, and Jogi were on hand to welcome the star, who obliged with photos and chat.
“She just stared at him until he said ‘I’m Alec Baldwin’ “
The encounter began when Joanne spotted Baldwin browsing in the shop. “She just stared at him until he said ‘I’m Alec Baldwin’ and had a laugh,” Scarlett said. “He then took pictures with all of us.”
Baldwin, 68, is best known for roles in films including The Departed and It’s Complicated, as well as his Broadway work. The American actor has had a lengthy career spanning television and film ( a special nod to 30 Rock), and recently went in a new reality series called The Baldwins, which premiered in February 2025 and offers a glimpse into his family life with wife Hilaria and their seven children.
We understand the actor is filming a New York Crime flick with Australian actor Chris Hemsworth in Sydney.
The pharmacy team have now earned bragging rights as local business award season approaches, with Scarlett revealing they were keen to secure a vote from the A-lister before releasing him back on Manly Corso.
But they weren’t the only ones brave enough to say hello, with reader Arena reporting she encountered the actor at the roof top of Whistler Street car park and he spoke with her parents in Spanish.
What a champ!
