Woman dies in Wakehurst head-on

A woman has died following a head-on collision on the Wakehurst Parkway this afternoon.

About 4.30pm (Monday 19 February 2024), emergency services were called to the Wakehurst Parkway in Narrabeen after reports two vehicles collided head on.

The female driver, understood to be in her 30s, died at the scene despite the best efforts of bystanders who attempted CPR.

The male driver – and sole occupant of the other car was not injured but was reportedly in severe shock.

He was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command have established a crime scene as an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident continues. As at 6.30pm this evening the Wakehurst Parkway remained closed in both directions and motorists advised to avoid the area.

The woman is yet to be formally identified nor next of kin notified.
