Woman dies at Manly Wharf

A woman has died in the toilets at Manly Wharf this afternoon, 11 January 2024.

Police have confirmed the 48 year old woman, (who was initially reported by authorities as 65), died early this afternoon following a suspected cardiac arrest.

Police are on scene but the death is not being treated as suspicious.

Manly wharf carpark is closed this afternoon.

We do not know if next of kin have been notified, no further information is available at this time.

Condolences to those who lost a loved one today.

Please avoid area as the scene is managed by forensics.

Police issued the following formal statement later this afternoon:

“About 12.25pm today (Thursday 11 January 2024) emergency services responded to reports of a concern for welfare in a toilet complex along East Esplanade, Manly.

NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR on a 48-year-old woman but she died at the scene.

Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the incident.

The matter is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.”
