The Sydney North Planning Panel unanimously approved the construction of “The Farmhouse”, a large undercover eatery with a number of outdoor dining options. The applicant is The Boathouse Group, who owns and operates 12 hospitality venues in NSW. They bought the site in 2022 for almost $10 million.
Originally, they had applied to construct three separate restaurants across two buildings serving 800 patrons with a total construction cost of $33 million, however, after discussions with Northern Beaches Council, the plans were amended.
The development, set to cost $16 million, includes the construction of a single-storey hospitality venue with a total GFA of 2,698sqm and serving 600 patrons across several indoor and outdoor areas.
There will be basement car parking for 84 cars, an at-grade car parking area for 114 cars, a children’s play area and landscaped areas.
Hours of operation would be 7am to midnight, seven days a week, with plans for ambient live music from midday to 10pm.
