Rescue op underway Manly

At least four paramedics, four fire and rescue and a small number of police are currently on the scene as they work to coordinate the extraction of a teenage boy with a severely injured leg at Collins Beach in Manly this afternoon..

We briefly spoke with the injured boy’s friend as he led paramedics through the bush and to his friend, who was at the remote beach Collins Flat with his leg raised and what appeared to be a swollen, purple and damaged limb.

It is unknown whether the injury was from a fall or jump gone awry.

We rather limply offered the help of biscuit provisions, but with that declined decided we weren’t much help and departed the scene.

The injured boy had a solid build so it will take some strength and team work to stretch him to safety. Wishing a speedy extraction and recovery !
