Police appeal for information following death of assault victim in Manly

NSW Police are appealing for public assistance following the death of a local 59 year old man in Royal North Shore Hospital last Friday (15 March). The man was being treated for serious head injuries sustained in an assault at a housing unit complex on Pittwater Rd in North Manly on 27 February.

In the online appeal, NSW Police state:

“Detectives attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command have been investigating the assault about 5:45pm on Tuesday 27 February 2024, of a 59-year-old man at a unit complex on Pittwater Road, Manly.

“The man was treated at the scene for serious head injuries by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

“Detectives – who formed Strike Force Flat to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident – have now been advised the man died last Friday (15 March 2024).

“As inquiries continue, detectives are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time or have information regarding the incident. Anyone with information which may assist investigators are urged to call Northern Beaches Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
