Obituary: Dusan Purac

It is with great sadness to announce that Dusan “Darcy” Purac passed away in his home in Novi Sad, Serbia, aged 74.

Dusan was a loving father to his two sons Ian and David and a well known football player and coach.

“Darcy” as he was called by most, was one of the great Northern Beaches characters. He came to Australia from Yugoslavia in the 70s to play football for the Sydney Soccer Club Yugal. Many know him from his time working on the Manly council garbo run or from his time being involved in local football. He was a happy and enthusiastic person, who loved a chat. He particularly loved sharing his passion and excitement for the game of soccer, that he was totally dedicated to. His Brazil Soccer School, run out of Millers Reserve for years, taught thousands of kids the finer skills of the game.

His funeral will take place on Thursday, 7th November in Novi Sad, Serbia.
