Determination: Approved

Date determined: 15/072025

Cost of Work: $10,732,865

Northern Beaches Local Planning Panel (NBLPP) unanimously approved the plans to upgrade the facilities at Dee Why RSL.

The panel noted that although the amended plans don’t result in any additional electronic gaming machines, the gaming area will increase by 614m2 due to new industry standards to increase space between gaming machines from 750mm to 1m.

There will also be a reduction of the licensed area by 178m2, and results in improved function and experience of the club for its patrons.

The plans will also add a new 140-seat Chinese restaurant and a new cafe while relocating gaming away from all food and beverage offerings.

The outside of the building will also get a revamp.

Dee Why RSL had originally submitted a DA for alterations and additions to the existing club and an addition of a childcare centre. The amended proposal no longer includes a childcare centre and focuses on the alterations and additions.
