Northern Beaches Police have charged a 53-year-old woman following a motor vehicle crash on Harbord Road, Freshwater, at around 4:30pm on Wednesday (27 August 2025).
The woman was driving a Land Rover Discovery when it was involved in a head-on collision with a Mazda CX3. The driver of the Mazda, a 49-year-old woman, was transported to Northern Beaches Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Land Rover was charged with ‘Drive with Middle Range Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol (PCA)’, and ‘Assault Police Officer in the Execution of Duty’.
Her licence was suspended and she is due to appear at Manly Local Court on Wednesday, 8 October 2025.
Counterfeit $100 notes
Northern Beaches Police are investigating reports of counterfeit $100 notes circulating in the local area. Officers are urging retail businesses and the wider community to remain vigilant when handling cash transactions.
Police advise store owners and staff to inspect banknotes and report any suspicious currency to the authorities immediately.

Scam targeting local residents
Northern Beaches Police are reminding the community to stay alert to scams following an incident involving a 64-year-old woman from Seaforth.
The victim received a voicemail asking her to confirm a recent online transaction and was instructed to download the ‘Supremo’ application to secure her bank accounts.
The woman uploaded sensitive personal information, including bank account details, passport information, and a photograph of herself. Shortly after, her bank alerted her about a transaction originating from India, and she realised she had been scammed.
Police urge residents to remain vigilant and never share personal information with unknown sources.
