Lacerations involved in double death in Forestville

Two dead bodies have been discovered at a granny flat in Cannons Parade in Forestville. 

Police confirmed the discovery of a man in his late 40s and a woman in her early 50s was made last night, 11 June 2025, and investigations are underway. The people are yet to be formally identified and the circumstances are still unknown. The pair are understood to be the couple who reside there, who have been in the area for about 12 months.

Northern Beaches Area Command Detective Superintendent John Duncan said at the scene this morning that murder suicide was just one of several lines of inquiry, but confirmed the bodies had lacerations and the deaths were being treated as suspicious. 

Police provided Manly Observer with the following statement: 

“An investigation is underway after the bodies of two people were found at a home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches overnight.

About 9:30pm yesterday, (Wednesday 11 June 2025), police attended a home on Cannons Parade, Forestville following reports of a concern for welfare.

Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended and found the bodies of a man – believed to be aged in his 40s – and a woman – believed to be aged in her 50s – in a granny flat at the rear of the property.

The bodies are yet to be formally identified.

Police established a crime scene and inquiries have commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

The couple’s pets, two dogs and a cat, were inside safe and being held at a local vet clinic he said.
