Cocaine stuffed in undies leads to two separate arrests, a homeless man with a chainsaw threatens Narrabeen Lake walkers: Crime Watch Northern Beaches

There have been two drug arrests in the last week where police said small packages of cocaine were concealed in the suspects’ underwear.

This first arrest happened on Friday, 31 October 2025, around 11:30pm, when a 20-year-old man from Dee Why was driving his car erratically on Pittwater Road, Manly. He overtook an unmarked police car, and police followed the driver and stopped him in Brookvale.

The driver underwent a random breath and drug test and passed both; however, police said they detected signs of drug trafficking.

Police searched the driver and his car and allege the driver had small packages of cocaine concealed in his underwear.

Police arrested him and took him to Manly Police station where a presumptive test showed the powder in the packages was cocaine and the weight was around 13 grams.

Police charged him with ‘Deal with proceeds of crime’, ‘Supply prohibited drug’ and ‘Possess a prohibited weapon’.

The last charge related to what police believe to be knuckledusters that were in his possession.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Manly Local Court on 10 December 2025.

The second arrest happened the following night at around 7pm on Saturday, 1 November 2025. Police on patrol witnessed a suspected drug transaction in a car on The Crescent, Manly.

Police approached the 39-year-old driver, who was from Liverpool, and had cause to search her and her car.

Police allege she had a number of small packages of cocaine concealed in her underwear that totalled around 12 grams.

A police dog searched her car and found another gram of powder.

Police also seized a sum of cash.

She was taken to Manly Police Station and police charged her with ‘Supply prohibited drug’ and ‘Recklessly deal with proceeds of crime’.

A presumptive test revealed that all the powder was cocaine.

She was refused bail by police and later granted conditional bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court on 18 November 2025.

Homeless, chainsaw wielding man arrested at Narrabeen Lake

On Sunday, 2 November 2025, around 8:00am, a 50-year-old man carrying a chainsaw startled two walkers aged in their twenties at Pipeclay Point, Narrabeen Lake.

The man is alleged to have activated the electric chainsaw and threatened the walkers.

The walkers contacted police, who approached a makeshift camp used by a homeless man who is known to police.

The homeless man had the chainsaw, and he was arrested and taken to Manly Police Station. He was charged with ‘Armed with intent to commit indictable offence’, and ‘Intimidation with intent to cause fear’.

Police removed his car from the trail and contacted Northern Beaches Council to assist with measures to prevent motor vehicle access to the walking track.

He was refused bail to appear at Manly Local Court on 12 November 2025.

Update: The man has been sentenced him to 12 months’ jail, with a non-parole period of two months. He will be eligible for release on 1 January.
