Manly Observer provides a weekly summary of development applications lodged with Northern Beaches Council in the last week.

In 2020, a $16.5 million DA was approved by Council to redevelop the former St Vincent de Paul shop and warehouse into a three-storey apartment block with 48 apartments (40 residential apartments and eight work/live Soho style apartments with ground level retail/business activation) and three retail outlets (on the ground floor).

This included three levels of basement parking with 164 car parking spaces.

In 2024, a DA for an additional storey (four in total) with an additional 20 apartments was lodged. The new floor incorporates 13 one-bedroom apartments, five two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom apartments.

Each apartment has previously approved car parking at the basement level with lift and stair access. All apartments are provided with private open space in the form of balconies.

The DA is on exhibition as Council requested further information from the applicant. The total expected development cost is $22 million.
