Northern Beaches residents have once again been the target of a break-in intending to steal car keys and taking off with the car.
Between 7pm on 11 February 2026 and 4pm on 12 February 2026, someone broke into a home in Claudare Street in Collaroy Plateau and stole a car key fob. They then drove away with a Mazda CX-3, which was parked out the front of the home on the road.
A few days later, on 14 February 2026, around 1pm, police recovered the stolen car in Jamieson Park in Narrabeen. Police allege the car was visibly damaged and was towed for forensic examination.
Manly Observer has made enquiries with police to understand if this crime is connected to similar incidents late last year – where groups of teenage boys broke into homes across the Northern Beaches to steal car keys and eventually cars parked in driveways or outside homes. Wine delivery stolen
A Queenscliff resident had their wine delivery stolen on 9 February 2026.
Between 11am and 8pm, a case of wine, which had been left unattended at the entrance to their unit complex on Crown Road in Queenscliff was stolen.
Unexpected drug mail in Manly
On 10 February 2026, around 4:30pm, a resident on Iluka Street in Manly reported a resealable plastic bag containing several smaller resealable bags with white powder when checking their mailbox.
The police attended the residence and seized the items.
Presumptive testing revealed the white powder to be cocaine.
Beware of Facebook Marketplace fraud
Police report that a Freshwater resident has been the latest victim of a Facebook Marketplace scam.
Sporting equipment item was advertised on Facebook Marketplace, and while the victim was diligent in requesting the ID of the seller (which was provided), after payment was completed the item never arrived.
