Light & Community: A celebration launching Olive & Kin and raising funds to support bereaved families

AN EVENING OF CONNECTION AND GENEROSITY AIMED AT HONOURING BABIES GONE TOO SOON

Light & Community marks an important milestone for Olive & Kin, which became a registered charity in May last year, and is designed as a joyful, welcoming event.

The evening will include food and drinks, curated gift bags, a silent auction, raffle and community storytelling.

Olive & Kin creates handcrafted, personalised ceramic urns and keepsakes to honour babies gone too soon.

The charity was founded by Hannah Fitzpatrick after experiencing the loss of her own daughter, Olive.

When Hannah was unable to find an urn that felt right, personal and made with care, she began creating her owN.

A deeply personal act that has since grown into a nationwide charity.

Each urn is provided free of charge, personalised with the option for each baby’s name to be imprinted into the lid, and posted Australia-wide to families following pregnancy or infant loss.

To date, Olive & Kin has provided over 200 urns to families across Australia, each one offered with dignity and care.

Hannah said: “We wanted something to mark the milestone of becoming a registered charity last year, something for people to come together and celebrate, and have teamed it with an opportunity to fundraise.”

The evening will be MC’d by Sally Douglas, founder of Good Mourning, and is open to all community members aged 18 and over. Around 200 guests are expected, including supporters, donors, local businesses and aligned organisations.

Olive & Kin is also seeking donations for the raffle and silent auction, including goods, services, vouchers or experiences.

Funds raised on the night will contribute to a $10,000 fundraising goal.
