Free CPR & AED Awareness Session
In partnership with the Heart Foundation, Laundry Lane is hosting a free CPR and AED familiarisation session on Friday, 18th October, 7.30 – 9am at Freshwater Surf Club. This event marks the launch of Laundry Lane’s goal to train 1,000 people in CPR over the next year as part of their initiative to become a Heart Smart office and promote heart health awareness within the community.
The session, led by Heart of the Nation, will honour Shocktober and Restart a Heart Day, global campaigns aimed at raising awareness of the importance of CPR and AED training. Heart of the Nation was founded by Greg Page, former member of The Wiggles, who experienced cardiac arrest on stage—a personal moment that inspired him to help others learn these life-saving skills.
This session could make a difference in saving a life, as over 26,000 Australians experience cardiac arrest out of hospital each year, but only about 10% survive.
