Cooking up a story, or two
Ever wondered about the stories behind favourite dishes? Join storytellers as they share the secrets behind the important meals served up throughout their lives. Double Delicious is a contemporary Asian Australian performance presented by Willoughby Council’s Culture Bites. A sellout at the Sydney Festival, Asia TOPA and OzAsia Festival, the show is a unique culinary and immersive experience which brings the flavours and aromas of favourite foods to life.
The storytellers include TV Chef and Kim Chi master Heather Jeong, performing artist Valerie Berry, writer, journalist and presenter Benjamin Law, and writer and comedian Jennifer Wong. Each story is personal and culminates in the authentic recreation of the storyteller’s chosen dish, with the audience given the opportunity to taste the dish at the end.
