Bear Cottage 100 Run
A community fundraising initiative in support of Bear Cottage Children’s Hospice, taking place on Saturday 3 October 2026 in Centennial Park.
It’s an unofficial, community-led run, with well over 100 people now involved. A handful of people are attempting the full 100km, but the bigger idea is that it’s completely inclusive -people are walking, jogging or running anywhere from 5km to 100km, while others will simply come down on the day for some good vibes, support and community. People can come and go as they please.
The idea came from wanting to bring people together around something positive and meaningful. We live in an increasingly digital and, at times, disconnected world, with so much conflict and division around us. I wanted to create something simple where people could come together, get active, have some fun and rally behind a cause we can all get behind – supporting children and families who need it most.
We’ve also had an amazing response from local businesses, with around 15 businesses donating raffle prizes and supporting the fundraiser, including Garfish, The Athlete’s Foot, Humphreys, LSKD, Restaurant Pendolino, Cunninghams, Bar x Bar, Aesthetic by Eimear, True Protein, XtraClubs, 4Pines, ButterBoy, House of Pickle, ASICS and CONDITN.
We want to raise as much as possible for Bear Cottage.
