Facing Monsters – Slab waves
Tom Carrol will host a very special evening at the Hayden Orpheum with the screening of Facing Monsters, a remarkable film which digs deep into the psyche of West Australian surfer Kerby Brown on his quest to ride a ferocious slab wave no one on the planet has surfed before.
It’s a film about fear, addictions and the family bonds which drives Kerby, what anchors him and why he’s obsessed with pitting himself against one of nature’s most intimidating forces. Watch as Kerby is immersed in the ferocity of the Southern Ocean and the thunder of its deadly monsters as he prepares to take on the ride of his life. Directed by Bentley Dean, produced by Chris Veerhuis and stunning cinematography by Rick Rifici.
Kerry Brown will appear and host a Q & A following the film.
