Creature’s alleged killer arrested following brother’s plea

A man has been arrested over the death of Brookvale man Guy (Creature) Haymes following a plea for information earlier this week.

His brother Mark Haymes presented the desperate plea during a press conference  at Manly Police Station in an attempt to help police with their investigations and provide his family with closure.

Guy, 59, who was known by friends as Creature, was found with serious head injuries in a Manly flat on the evening of 27 February 2024. 

Police were advised he later died in hospital on Friday, 15 March 2024.

“He was a kind-hearted soul who wouldn’t hurt anyone. Our whole family is in shock and disbelief. Dibelief that he had his life cut short. And in such a brutal way. Not knowing what happened that day and not having the answers is the hardest part,” Mark said at the press conference. 

Information provided in the days since led to the arrest of a 41-year-old man at Greenacre last night.

Manly Observer has confirmed the man’s name is Jayson Dal Molin. He has been refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Sunday 16 June 2024).

He was was taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with murder, two counts take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage and take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage occasion actual bodily harm.
