REVIEW OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

QUARANTINE STATION, MANLY

ONGOING OPERATIONS

Kaylan Consulting has prepared a review of environmental factors (REF) on behalf of North Head Sydney (NHS), for submission to the National Parks and Wildlife Service, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (NPWS, DCEEW) for the ongoing operation of the Quarantine Station at North Head, Manly. The existing planning approval for operation of the Quarantine Station is due to lapse in December 2024.

The current planning approval permits the site to be used for a range of ‘Key Site Activities’ including restaurants, tourist accommodation, visitor centre and museum, guided tours, environmental and cultural study centre as well as functions and events. The ongoing operations would permit the site to continue to offer these ‘Key Site Activities’ to members of the public and does not include any physical works or changes to its current commercial activities.

PUBLIC EXHIBITION

The REF will be placed on public exhibition from 30 July 2024 to 29 August 2024. The documents are available for viewing on the DPE website at http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/get-involved/have-your-say and at the following locations:

  • Manly Library, 1 Market Place, Manly NSW
