Obituary of Geoffrey George Massey Kirby
14/11/1945 – 14/10/2024
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Geoffrey George Massey Kirby, who peacefully left us to reunite with his beloved wife, Ann. Born in Manly, Geoffrey spent most of his life on the Northern Beaches, where he became a cherished figure in his community.
Geoffrey was a dearly loved father to Evan and Alison, and an admired father-in-law to Andrew and Felicity. He was also a devoted grandfather to Aidan, Annabel, Brodie, and Fletcher. Geoffrey shared a special bond with his sister Judy and was a cherished uncle.
Geoffrey along his life built a wonderful circle of friends who remain still to this day and is a testament to the greatly admired friend he was.
A proud serviceman, Geoffrey fought bravely in the Vietnam War as part of the 106 Field Battery 4th Regiment; he was a devoted member of the North Steyne Surf Club and Rugby Club, where he made lasting friendships and memories.
Rest up, Kyber, until we meet again.
A funeral service will be held in Geoffrey’s honor on Friday, 25th October at St. Matthews Church, 1 Darley Road, The Corso, Manly, commencing at 10:30 am followed by a reception at Manly Skiff Club East Esplanade, Manly.
